Speakers

Lisa Skakun

Lisa_SkakunLisa Skakun is the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer for Mogo Finance Technology, one of Canada’s leading financial technology companies and a provider of innovative financial products to consumers. Lisa, who joined Mogo after serving as General Counsel, SVP Corporate Development and Corporate Secretary for Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, Canada’s largest credit union by membership, leads all internal and external resources related to Mogo’s legal and administrative functions. Lisa holds a LLB from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Master of Laws degree in business law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and holds the ICD.D designation, having completed the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors.  In 2017 she was a recipient of the Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Women in Law, in 2015 Lisa was named to Canada’s Diversity 50 list by the Canadian Board Diversity Council and in 2011 was the recipient of the Association of Women in Finance’s PEAK award for “Rising Star” and the National Post Award for “Tomorrow’s Leader” at the Western Canada General Counsel Awards. She is the past Chair of the Board of Kwantlen Polytechnic University, a member of the Board of Cause We Care Foundation and past Chair of the BC Business Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, and was a member of the Securities Law Advisory Committee for the British Columbia Securities Commission.

David Finnie

David Finnie has built great teams whose accomplishments exceeded expectations. He has built and led business, finance, risk and strategy development teams and is currently leading the risk team at Central 1 as the Chief Risk Officer. David is a senior executive and leader with over 20 years experience and has held senior-level roles with large and small organizations in Toronto, New York and Vancouver.

David has led the creation of Central 1’s risk team and has lead the organization through a risk awareness transformation. In previous organizations, David has been responsible for extensive change and transformation in IT, Finance, Risk and strategic operations. In leading these areas, David has attracted, hired and developed strong and capable individuals and has coached them in their career growth. Many of his staff have advanced to executive roles and are now helping to lead financial services organizations in their operations and transformations.
