AWF Events
The AWF holds several events throughout the year in BC to advance our cause, raise awareness of issues affecting women and celebrate the amazing achievements of remarkable, inspirational women in finance, and the men and women who champion their successes. We proudly support diversity, equity and inclusion and welcome everyone to attend our events.
We host the following events during the year:
PEAK Awards
The Peak Awards is AWF’s largest annual fundraising event, which recognizes 4 trailblazing women in finance and a champion. It is a formal awards gala night that includes dinner, entertainment and amazing prizes while raising money for the AWF Scholarship Fund. There are 350 to 400 people who attend this event, which includes several industry leaders in the finance and business community. Fall or Winter Economic Update Luncheon
The AWF Economic Update Luncheon takes place annually in the fall or winter. Close to 180 to 220 people attend this important event. A panel of experts in the finance industry discuss their economic outlook from a global, national and regional perspective and the impact it will have on BC businesses, families, and investors. It also includes excellent opportunities to network with industry peers.
Spring or Summer Luncheon
Financial professionals and others in BC attend this annual special luncheon to hear from a panel of experts on a chosen hot topic relevant to the financial industry and to network. There are approximately 180 to 200 people who attend this event.

Fireside Chats
The AWF holds 4-5 Fireside Chats each year in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
These events often feature a professional panel of speakers about issues of interest to the financial community, which can help finance women to advance in their careers.
Past topics included:
- Breaking Barriers: Women Claiming their Seat at the Corporate Table
- Bridging Finance and Technology
- Embodied Leadership
These Fireside Chats bring together BC’s financial professionals and others in a more intimate setting for networking, business development and education. There are 40 to 80 people who attend these popular chats.
AWF Golf Series
AWF’s Golf Series bring together females in finance and others for an afternoon of semi-private golf lessons by a golf professional, or in some cases a round of golf followed by a social reception during the summer. These golf events provide an opportunity for casual networking and fine-tuning your golf game with colleagues in the financial industry. No previous golf experience is required to attend.
Speed Mentoring
The annual speed mentoring event is for early and mid-career women to connect with accomplished senior financial professionals who operate in different industries and have pursued various finance career paths. This is a great opportunity for women to meet senior finance leaders (VPs, CFOs, Partners, CEOs, Business Owners, etc.) and ask them questions. It allows the mentees to get career advice and gain valuable insights in an informal round-table style format. There are typically 80 to 100 people who attend this event in Vancouver.
