What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Manager Treasury Champion, Commercial Banking you will build CIBC British Columbia’s Public Sector, Not-for-Profit and overall Treasury/Deposit dependent customer base. You will manage a deposit concentrated portfolio and be the subject matter expert responsible for coordinating calling activities with Relationship Managers across the province. The role will work closely with Cash Management, Commercial Banking Relationship Managers/Leaders and Client Support roles. In addition, the position will be responsible to lead activities ensuring the business is well priced and appropriate to CIBC’s policies, while keeping informed on competitive pressure and trends. Responsibilities will also include some portfolio management activities. The position reports directly to the Regional Vice President/Market Vice President, and the successful candidate will be a member of the Region’s Leadership Team.

How you’ll succeed

  • Relationship building - Develop new client relationships through business development activities, leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence. Actively monitor and manage these relationships by fully understanding our clients’ goals, purpose and the status of our clients’ business.
  • Teamwork - Work with internal partners to connect clients with opportunities. Commit to building a profile in the local community in order to leverage that profile into effective working relationships with new and existing clients and internal partners.
  • Client experience - Proactively assess your clients’ needs and propose solutions to deliver to meet those needs. Interact with assigned clients as necessary to facilitate prompt response to questions, enquiries or issues in order to provide “best in class” service. Apply acquired industry/company knowledge to the development of client/prospect proposals for financial and strategic solutions to meet client needs.
