Patrice Impey is the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of Financial Services and Human Resources for the City of Vancouver. Patrice oversees all aspects of finance, information technology and human resources for the City of Vancouver, the largest municipality in Western Canada and Host City of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
As CFO, Patrice recently co-sponsored the City’s Vancouver Services Review (VSR), a corporate priority setting project that identified opportunities to streamline service delivery, save money and find efficiencies within the City’s organization. The project is now developing recommendations for expedited implementation of shared services and process improvements across all City departments and boards.
The City’s Human Resources department recently managed the deployment of over 600 City staff in February and March 2010 as members of the Host City Team. The team supported the delivery of celebratory events, services and activities leading up to and during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, including the LiveCity Vancouver celebration sites and the Olympic Line demonstration streetcar.
Patrice has more than 20 years experience in senior financial and operational management positions in high growth companies, including the management of mergers and acquisitions. Following a series of progressive positions at Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd., she served as the Vice-President of Finance and Administration and CFO of the Canadian organization, then a $2 billion entity with over 1200 employees. Patrice then moved to Hewlett-Packard’s corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, California, before returning to Canada in 2003 as Corporate Controller at Crystal Decisions (subsequently acquired by Business Objects and SAP).
Following the merger with Business Objects, she held the position of Vice President Finance for Business Objects Americas. At this company, Patrice was responsible for all aspects of business support to the EVP and General Manager of the Americas, and the Finance and Accounting for the Americas Entities. During this period, she supported the organization through significant growth and the successful integration of several acquired companies.
Patrice holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba and an M.B.A from the University of Western Ontario, and has participated in leadership development programs at Queens and Harvard Universities.
Patrice is a member of Financial Executives International and also serves on the Board of Directors of Take a Hike Foundation which supports at-risk youth. She is married with three children.
