About Us

The AWF Association of Women in Finance was established as a non-profit society in 1996 and is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Association of Women in Finance:

• Encourages women to enter the field of finance;
• Promotes and mentors their professional advancement;
• Supports and engages experienced women; and
• Acknowledges women who have achieved excellence in their field.

The AWF accomplishes these goals in a variety of ways including the following:

• Evening speaker series generally held on the third Tuesday of each month (excluding July and August). Recent topics have included Women on Boards, Women in Politics and the annual Economic Forecast event.
• Quarterly luncheon series aimed at women who have more than ten years’ experience in the field and those who prefer mid-day networking opportunities.
• Annual PEAK Awards Gala designed to recognize women who have excelled in the field of finance as well as to raise money to support, through the AWF’s PEAK Scholarship Fund, women entering the field.
• PEAK Scholarship Fund which proudly supports the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Foundation, the Minerva Foundation Douglas College Awards, Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of Business Graduate Program, and the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Law.
