Beth Berry began her career with Beedie Development Group in the Spring of 2008 after spending four years with a major Vancouver brokerage firm. As Director of Industrial Development, Beth is responsible for the sales and marketing of new developments, build-to-suit projects and strata development in British Columbia. Beth is a graduate of the University of British Columbia's Bachelor of Commerce program specializing in Real Estate and the Executive MBA program at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.


Janet LePage, CEO

Western Wealth Capital 

Janet LePage is co-founder and CEO of Western Wealth Capital, a growth company focused on creating wealth through well-selected real estate investment. Since its inception in 2011, WWC’s disciplined strategy has identified cash-flowing properties with unlocked value located in emerging markets.  Under Janet’s leadership, WWC has placed more than $125 million (all figures $U.S.) in private equity and acquired 30 multi-family properties, comprising 5,100 rental units, with a purchase value of $375 million. WWC’s revenues for 2016 were $32 million.

Janet was named one of Business in Vancouver’s Forty Under 40 and awarded the Veuve Cliquot Canadian New Generation Award, recognizing young female entrepreneurs. Janet holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing Science and Business Administration, along with a Project Management Professional designation.

Michael A. Ferreira, Managing Principal

Urban Analytics Inc.

Michael Ferreira brings nearly 25 years of insight and experience in the new multi‐family home development industry in Metro Vancouver and several other markets in British Columbia and Alberta—most of that time as managing principal of leading market research and advisory firm Urban Analytics. Michael has also worked in key senior management roles with major development firms in Metro Vancouver where he provided invaluable input on acquisitions, design, development and marketing of new residential communities. Under the leadership of Michael and his partner Jon Bennest, Urban Analytics has grown to be a leading provider of new home data through its proprietary web‐based NHSLIve data platform and of advisory services to the residential development industry. Michael is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and the Sauder School of Business at UBC.

Rob Kavanagh joined GWL Realty Advisors in 2001 and since 2004 he has taken primary responsibility for the British Columbia region, overseeing asset management of the commercial portfolio valued in excess of $2.4 billion and property management and leasing activities for 7.9 million square feet of office, industrial and retail assets. He has a significant role in establishing asset management business plans, leasing, capital investment, development, acquisition, disposition and portfolio strategies for the portfolio with the objective of maintaining or enhancing long-term asset value while managing risk. Between 2001 and 2004, Rob led the Ottawa Region for GWL Realty Advisors.

Previously between 1994 and 2001 Rob worked with Slough Estates Canada Limited where he oversaw the development of approximately 2.6 million square feet of industrial and office properties in Toronto and Vancouver. He started his career in commercial property appraisal and is an Accredited Appraiser (A.A.C.I.) with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Rob has been an active member of BOMA British Columbia where he has served on the Board of Directors since 2006 and was Chair of the Board from 2014 to 2016. He is also serving on the Board of Directors for BOMA Canada. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Urban Land Economics) from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration degree from McGill University.

David Waldref joined Wesgroup in 2010 as Vice President, Real Estate Lending for Wesgroup Capital LP. In 2012 his duties expanded to include Vice President, Finance at Wesgroup Properties LP.  Prior to joining Wesgroup, David spent 10 years with RBC's Real Estate lending group - managing banking relationships of top tier Real Estate developers and owners; including some of Canada's largest privately held and publicly traded real estate enterprises. David is currently responsible for managing the capital requirements of the business. Those duties include overseeing Wesgroup’s banking relationships, debt and cash flow as well as Wesgroup Capital LP's loan portfolio. David is a CFA charter holder with a BBA in Finance and Economics from Simon Fraser University.

Doug Purdie is a partner in the Audit practice of Deloitte LLP in Vancouver practicing as part of Deloitte Private where he specializes in working with private entities and is the interim leader of the firm's BC Real Estate Group. He has over 26 years of extensive experience focused on businesses engaged in the real estate industry in Canada, the United States and China. His clients have included both private and institutional investors, owners and developers, general contractors, and managers of commercial, industrial and retail real estate including hotels, shopping centres, office buildings, mixed use projects, and residential condominiums. Doug is an effective sounding board and advisor to owners, directors and management of private and family companies and integrates practical business advice with providing clients a full range of audit, accounting and tax services designed to increase their long-term success and meet the needs of diversified stakeholder interests. His work in this area includes identifying and resolving complex accounting and financial reporting matters, raising capital, corporate restructurings, due diligence requirements, and corporate governance matters. He is an active member of the Urban Development Institute (Pacific Region), a director of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BC Division) (2008 – current), and a director of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (2016 – current).
