Christine HughesChristine Hughes, President and Chief Investment Strategist
Christine Hughes founded OtterWood Capital Management in 2012. Prior to starting her own firm Christine spent 10 years with AGF Management where she managed the Lipper Award winning AGF Canadian Balanced Fund (outperformance versus her peers in the Canadian equity balanced group for 1, 3, 5 years ending Dec. 31,2008). Christine’s view on the stock market is unique as she analyzes it from the perspective of the bond market. Shaped by her extensive background in fixed income, she studies how equities relate to the yield curve.

Christine started her career at Cassels Blaikie (now Scotia Cassels) where she took the unusual route of directly working, one on one, with ultra-high-net-worth clients. Spending 7 years managing these discretionary portfolios allowed her to pinpoint the exact needs of her clients. She firsthand understands that while appreciation of capital is important, preservation of capital is paramount.

Christine received her Bachelor of Economics degree from University of Toronto, has earned the CFA designation and is a registered portfolio manager.
