The Fireside Chat Series provides a small, intimate environment for industry professionals to network (bring your business cards) with top members of the financial community and meet with high-caliber business leaders. More about the speakers: 

Kathy Butler is a Managing Director and Head of BC Investment Banking for CIBC World Markets. Ms. Butler joined CIBC in 1996 and has been involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions advisory mandates, as well as debt and equity financings.  Past transactions include advisory mandates for TELUS, MDA, CAI, Gateway Casinos Income Fund and Sierra Wireless, and financings for TELUS, MDA, Sierra Wireless, Whistler Blackcomb and Premium Brands.

Ms. Butler holds an MBA (Honours) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (Honours) from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.  She represented the technology industry on the BC Jobs and Investment Board, is currently on the Board of Governors of the Business Council of British Columbia, is on the Working Group of International Financial Services for BC, is a Partner of Social Venture Partners Vancouver, and is on the Board of Atira Development Society and the Advisory Board for Canuck Place Hospice.

Jennifer Reynolds is the President and CEO of Women in Capital Markets and has been an active advocate and supporter of the advancement of women in the industry over her career. Prior to joining WCM, Jennifer spent 15 years working in the capital markets industry, most recently as a Managing Director and Head of the Diversified Industries Investment Banking group with Stonecap Securities. Jennifer has also held senior roles in investment banking with BMO Capital Markets and in the venture capital industry with OMERS Ventures.

Jennifer is an Honorary Chair of the Princess Margaret Hospital Weekend Walk to End Women's Cancers, Member of the YWCA Women of Distinction Committee, and is a former Director and Chair of the Board of Advisors of the Microskills Business Incubator and Director on the Board of Studio 180, an independent, Toronto based theatre company. Jennifer is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Women's Leadership Forum, and she received her MBA from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Economics and Political Science from McGill University.
